Day 1 - Saturday was the first day off of work I have had since I arrived. Nate and Ross came on Friday and on Saturday we went to see Old Faithful and in the afternoon took a hike to fairy falls (pictured below) It was cold and raining/snowing, but we still made it to the falls. The 2 mile hike back was tough with soaking wet pants and walking through the snow.

Day 2 -
Sunday we left early for Grand Teton National Park which is an hour south. We took a trail around Jenny Lake to the Hidden Falls. The hike was difficult through rocky trails and almost the whole trail was covered with snow. The waterfall at the end was worth the hike. We saw seven moose (two bull moose), one black bear, and a few woodchucks.

Jeff and I out by the lake at dusk. Still Frozen.

The view from the lake is hard to capture in a picture. This only only a small section of the mountains in the distance.
This was taken from the edge of a cliff with a river running below it. Bears supposedly hang out at the river below to eat fish but we still have yet to see a bear although almost everyone else has seen one.

Sunday, May 18

A nice view of the frozen lake.
This is the puzzle we have been working on for the past few days. It is a 1000 piece puzzle of Old Faithful Inn.

Friday, May 16

BEAR TRACKS!!!
Bear prints are popping up all over. They lead right on to the path that we use to walk to work and meals.

Thursday, May 15

Here are a few pictures of the snow. We found the lake today and it is still frozen over. We have had a lot of time off because there's not much work to do yet in the kitchen but there's too much snow to explore so we have been doing a lot of reading. The second picture is of the cabins next to the dorm. We aren't staying in those but it gave a good impression of how much snow there is. It isn't too cold though. Its almost 50 and the sun is out. There are some 70 degree days on the weather forecast so hopefully the snow will melt soon.

Wednesday, May 14

Jeff and I have now arrived in Yellowstone. We are in our room, which is similar to a college dorm room. Outside our window we have a good view of the 5 foot snow bank. There is about 4 feet of snow on the ground with drifts much higher.

Both pictures above are of hot springs. The first one was boiling and pouring out sulfur smoke. The one on the right is clear because it is over 200 degrees. The picture below on the left is of Gibbons falls. The picture on the right is of a bison that we were probably much too close to.

Tuesday, May 13

Sunrise over the mountains outside room 258 at the Bozeman Inn, Bozeman Montana. Now off to Yellowstone.
